What is the difference between bar replay and backtesting?
Bar replay is manual, discretionary backtesting: you take each trade yourself, so it tests your execution as well as the rules. Automated backtesting runs coded rules over the same history in seconds and tests only the rules. Serious testing usually needs both.
Does TradingView have bar replay?
Yes, and for quick visual rehearsal it is often enough. The limitation is that trades taken inside it are not kept as a performance record, so it does not accumulate the evidence that makes practice worth doing.
