Secuora vs TradingSim: two replay simulators, very different prices

TradingSim and Secuora are the two products in this comparison set that actually do the same core thing: replay real historical market data bar by bar so you can practise trading it without knowing what happens next. Both are browser-based. Both are session-based replay.

The difference is scope and price. TradingSim goes deep on US equities — over 10,000 symbols, Level 2, tick and second charts, market data fees bundled into the subscription — and charges $79/month (Pro) or $89/month (Premium), with annual billing at $396 and $449. Secuora goes broad — crypto, forex, stocks, indices, futures and metals — wraps the replay in a journal, an AI backtester and a prop-firm simulator, and charges $29/month. Here is the honest breakdown.

TradingSim facts verified against tradingsim.com on July 17, 2026: Pro $79/mo or $396/yr, Premium $89/mo or $449/yr, with Premium adding 5 years of history (vs 2 on Pro) and tick/second charts. Note that annual billing brings TradingSim Pro to roughly $33/month — the gap to Secuora narrows considerably if you pay yearly on both.

Where TradingSim is genuinely stronger

US equities depth. Over 10,000 symbols with Level 2 and Time & Sales, tick and second charts on Premium, and market data fees bundled into the price rather than billed separately by an exchange. If you are a US stock day trader practising small-cap momentum at the open, this is a more faithful simulator than Secuora and it is not close — Secuora has no Level 2 and no sub-30-second granularity.

Intra-candle realism. Secuora replays 1-minute candles (with a derived 30-second view). For a scalper, what happened inside that minute — whether your stop was hit before your target — is the entire question, and TradingSim’s tick/second charts answer it where Secuora cannot.

Fair note on price: at annual billing TradingSim Pro works out to roughly $33/month against Secuora’s $23/month yearly. The headline $79 vs $29 gap is real for month-to-month buyers, but it is much narrower if you commit to a year on both.

Where Secuora is stronger

Markets. TradingSim is a US-market product with crypto attached; Secuora replays crypto, forex, stocks, indices, futures and metals in one tier, with session-open skipping for the London, New York and Asia opens. If you trade EURUSD or BTC, TradingSim is not aimed at you.

The replay is not the whole product. Secuora journals your real trades — emotions, rules broken, confluences, screenshots, a P&L calendar — alongside the simulated ones, and the analytics read across both. TradingSim is a simulator you open to practise; Secuora is where the practice and the live review live together.

Rehearsing an evaluation, and testing ideas without trading them. The prop-firm challenge simulator (account size, profit target, daily loss limit, max drawdown) and the AI backtester (plain-English strategy in, deterministic backtest out) have no TradingSim equivalent — and the AI backtester answers questions replay cannot: a rules-based idea tested over a year of data in seconds instead of a month of clicking.

Price, month to month. $29 against $79 is a 63% difference, and a 3-day free trial plus a no-signup demo means you can find out whether the replay suits you before paying anything.

A note on what backtesting actually buys you

Secuora’s published research at /strategy ran 40-plus popular recipes — ICT silver bullet, FVG entries, opening-range and session breakouts, EMA crosses, RSI mean reversion — on a year of BTC and ETH data through the same engine that powers the in-app AI backtester. After modest commissions, every single one finished underwater, several down more than 90%, mostly bled out by trading costs on high-frequency rules.

That is the case for a simulator of any brand: the cheapest place to discover a strategy does not work is one where the money is fake.

Choose Secuora if you…

  • trade crypto, forex, futures, indices or metals — TradingSim is US-equities-first
  • want the journal, the backtester and the analytics in one product
  • are preparing for a prop-firm evaluation
  • want to test rules-based ideas in plain English, not just click through replay
  • want to pay $29/mo instead of $79/mo month-to-month

Choose TradingSim if you…

  • day trade US stocks and need Level 2 and Time & Sales in replay
  • need tick or second-level granularity — Secuora replays 1-minute candles
  • want 10,000+ US symbols and several years of intraday history
  • want market data fees bundled with no separate exchange bill

Frequently asked questions

Is Secuora a good TradingSim alternative?

For most traders outside US equities, yes: Secuora replays crypto, forex, stocks, indices, futures and metals for $29/month against TradingSim’s $79, and adds a journal, an AI backtester and a prop-firm simulator. But if you day trade US stocks and rely on Level 2 and tick-level replay, TradingSim is the more faithful simulator and Secuora does not match it.

Which is cheaper, Secuora or TradingSim?

Secuora, though the gap depends on billing. Month-to-month it is $29 against $79 (Pro) or $89 (Premium). Billed yearly, TradingSim Pro is $396/year — about $33/month — against Secuora at $276/year, or $23/month. So the honest numbers are a 63% gap monthly and a much narrower one annually.

Does TradingSim have a trading journal?

Not in the sense Secuora does. TradingSim is organised around the replay simulator. Secuora journals live trades directly — emotions, rules broken, confluences, screenshots, P&L calendar — and logs every replay trade automatically, so simulated and real trading sit in the same analytics.

Does Secuora have Level 2 data in replay?

No. Level 2 and Time & Sales are TradingSim strengths and a genuine Secuora gap. Secuora replays 1-minute candles with a derived 30-second view and simulated market/limit/stop orders. If order-book reading is part of your edge, TradingSim serves that and Secuora does not.

Can I practise a prop-firm challenge on TradingSim?

Not with challenge rules simulated. Secuora’s challenge mode enforces account size, profit target, daily loss limit and max drawdown inside the replay, so you can rehearse an evaluation on historical data before paying a firm for an attempt.
